Instructions for EXISTING Central Desktop Company Plan Subscribers who want to link Central Desktop to Salesforce.com.
Linking Central Desktop to Salesforce.com allows you to have Single Sign-On Access between the two applications.
- Upgrade your plan to include Salesforce Addon
-
- Go to Account -> My Account -> Central Desktop Billing -> Select Your Plan and Upgrade to include the Salesforce Addon
- Install the CD Appexchange Package into your Salesforce.com instance
-
- After the install is complete click on the CD Dashboard Tab
- Open a another browser FROM your existing browser
-
- For IE 6 click File | New | Window (or click CTRL - N)
- For IE 7 or Firefox just open another Tab in your existing browser.
- In this new window go to this URL:
-
- This page should display your OrgID and UserIDs for all your Salesforce seats.
- Note your account will not be active until Central Desktop receives your OrgID and processes it.
- Go to Company Setup and click on the "edit profile" icon and fill in the SALESFORCE USER ID field with the Salesforce User ID that you see in the URL above for the respective user. Repeat this step for each user.
- Note: This process will only allow us to match your existing company and members in the company roster to an existing Salesforce Installation.
Please Note: This will not map any existing "workspaces" to existing accounts. But once the steps above are complete users should be able to create extranets directly from Salesforce.com.
If you get a Login Error when trying to access Central Desktop via Salesforce, follow these steps:
- Go to Setup > Administration Setup > Security Controls > Session Settings
- Disable "Lock sessions to the IP from which they originate"
To match existing workspaces to Salesforce "Extranets" do the following:
- Create a "extranet record" in Salesforce.com and go to the Extranet Record Detail screen in Salesforce.
- Go to the Workspace in Central Desktop and go to General Settings.
- Copy the last part of the Salesforce URL into the Salesforce Extranet ID field in General Settings:
-
- For example if the extranet record URL shows up as: https://na3.salesforce.com/a005000000ArZyn
- The ID you want to populate in this field would be: a005000000ArZyn
