Setting up Members without sending them an Invitation

If you want to setup all or part of your userbase yourself as the admin and avoid having to send everyone an invitation link so they can perform the registration process here is a trick.

  • Setup a Gmail account http://www.gmail.com
  • Lets say your email address is me@gmail.com
  • When you go to invite people from a Central Desktop workspace or Company Account you can invite them to me+invite1@gmail.com, me+invite2@gmail.com, me+invite3@gmail.com etc....
  • Gmail lets you create as many email aliases as you like using the "+_______" before the @ sign.
  • This will in effect allow you to receive all the invitations yourself and accept them.  When you go to accept the invitations you can then generate enter the proper email address, full name, username/password, and remainder of the profile information.
  • Once you are done completing the profile you can email your invited guest/member their user credentials.

Note: We are working on improving user management so this is a more native process.  We expect that to be done in Q1 2008.
