Outlook 2007 already has native iCal support. No extra plugins are required. Simply navigate to the iCal link in My Calendar or any workspace Calendar and click on the iCal links.
An Outlook box should appear asking you to "Add this Internet Calendar to Outlook and Subscribe to Updates". Simply click YES. The Calendar will automatically be added to your Outlook.

Incorporate a Central Desktop Calendar feed into Outlook 2003
The folks over at Remote Calendar have created a free to use plugin that makes Microsoft Outlook iCal compliant. Since Central Desktop is iCal compliant you will be able to subscribe to Central Desktop calendars from MS Outlook.
Please Note:
Below you will find a step by step guide to installing Remote Calendar.
Using Remote Calendar: The first screen you come to should look something like this:
We recommend you check the two boxes to automatically reload all your calendars everytime you open your Outlook. This way you will always be "in sync". Then click OK
You should now notice a new toolbar in your Outlook that looks like: Click on the PLUS icon to add a new Calendar. Now open a browser and navigate to a Central Desktop Calendar and click on the green ICAL icon.
Now right click on the calendar subscription you wish to subscribe to and Copy the Shortcut or Link Location.
Go back to your Outlook and paste in the URL you just copied from your browser
Type the Remote Calendar's Name and click OK. You have now successfully added the shared calendar into your own Outlook calendar. If you go to your Calendar section in Outlook you should see the Central Desktop Shared events appear.
Here is an example of what it might look like:
You can add as many calendars as you like, although for performance reasons we recommend keeping the number of subscribed calendars to 10 or less. To manually refresh a calendar click on the reload icon:
If you set the option "Reload All", everytime you open Outlook the calendars will automatically refresh. Thats it.
Additional Helpful Tips: You can create multiple "folders" or calendars within outlook, this way you can color code the CD calendar and also have your regular calendar side by side. Page Comments: Comment by Gordon Huddleston on Feb 5: If you have outlook 2007, you can add the feed to the icalendars under account settings. It is only read only still however.
These are the most confusing instructions I've ever read. I have downloaded these files and there are no exe files to run. I'm very frustrated. This is the second time adn the second computer I have attempted to do this on. Obviously this is a user error on my part, but these instructions should be written for laymen considering we are the vast majority of people using CD. Heidi,
Once you download the .zip file (currently, RemoteCalendarsSetup-6.3.zip) you will need to unzip it. Then you should have a bunch of files and subfolders. In the "Prerequisites" subfolder are the 2 exe files that you need to run first (should be named "O2003PIA.EXE" and "vstor.exe"). Then, you should be able to run the setup.exe. We just installed Remote Calendar, but when I re-opened Outlook we do not see the "OptionsRemoteCalendar" window. Any suggestions about what might be going wrong, or how we can get to that window? Thanks. Add a Comment
